What kind of internet connection do I need to use a IP Phone?

The minimum bandwidth recommended is 100+ kbps. Internet connections available in most of UK, Europe and USA are good enough to give you a decent voice quality

My IP Phone displays that it is registered but I am not able to make calls?

This could be in most cases a network issue. Please make sure there are no firewalls or any other applications blocking the IP Phone. IP Phone’s usually use UDP 5060 port. Please refer to the relevant IP Phone make documentation for UDP and RTP ports and make sure those ports are not blocked on your network.

Voice quality declines while simultaneously talking and working on my PC

Under normal browsing and working conditions voice quality should not be affected. While you are talking, if you are also downloading or uploading files like email attachments or photos or huge documents, this may affect the voice quality. Try having QOS (quality of service) implemented in your router to avoid such issues.
